Live tribute show recreating the beats and classics of Dr Dre and his album '2001' at The Nest.
The Dr Dre Experience comes to The Nest on Friday 23 October, a live tribute to hip-hop pioneer Dr Dre and his landmark album 2001. It's a tribute show rather than the man himself, so if you're expecting the real thing, this isn't it — it's a production built around his work.
The set focuses on 2001, the album that defined the West Coast sound of the late nineties and early two thousands. The show recreates the beats, the collaborations and the energy of that era in a live setting, with classics like 'Still D.R.E.', 'The Next Episode' and 'Nuthin' But a 'G' Thang' making up the bulk of it. It's billed as an immersive show, so it's less about a band on a stage and more about the whole room leaning into those sounds.
There are a few things to keep in mind before you book. It's strictly for ages 14 and over, and anyone under 18 has to be accompanied by an adult, so it's not a night for the younger ones. The show runs from 19:00 to 22:00, three hours of the 2001 catalogue played through.
