The Absolute Stone Roses, a tribute to the Stone Roses, play The Nest in Nottingham as part of the Legends of Manchester double-header.
The Absolute Stone Roses play The Nest on Saturday 24 October, as part of a double-bill called Legends of Manchester. They're sharing the bill with Oasis Forever, so you get two tribute bands on one night rather than just one. Between them they cover the songbooks of the two biggest names to come out of Manchester, and the whole thing is billed as a single evening.
The Absolute Stone Roses are the ones taking on the Roses, and they describe their set as capturing the spirit, sound and swagger of the originals. Oasis Forever handle the other half, focusing on the singalong anthems that the Gallagher brothers made famous. Together they run through the songs of two bands that defined a particular era of British music, and the night is built around that.
It's a fair bit of ground to cover in one go, but that's the point of the double-header. You've got the Roses' side and the Oasis side on the same bill, so it's a good way to hear both without having to pick one over the other. The Nest's ground floor holds over 1,200 people, and the night is for over-14s only.
