Swing dance session with Donna Leake at Movers in Hockley.
Donna Leake brings her swing dance session to Movers on Saturday 14 November, with the night running from 19:00 until midnight. It's a swing dance night, so the focus is on the dance floor rather than a seated audience. If you're into swing, that's the draw: Donna Leake on the music, a room for dancing, and a good stretch of the evening to get into it.
Movers is over in Hockley, at 15 Hockley, NG1 1FH. It's a venue that works across the day, with chilled afternoons of coffee and music that run into evenings of DJ sets and dancing. It's a small but steady part of the area's cultural life, and this night fits right into that pattern—the kind of place that's as much about the coffee and the crowd as it is about whatever's on the decks.
With the session running from 7pm through to midnight, there's plenty of room to settle in. It's not a short set, so you can arrive early, dance a few numbers, and stay as long as you like without feeling rushed. If you're coming with a partner or a group, the timing gives you a whole evening to work with rather than a tight window. It's a Saturday night in the city, so it's easy to build the rest of your evening around it.
