Informal one-hour piano concert by Ukrainian pianist Olga Zado, part of the Nottingham Classics Sunday Piano Series.
Olga Zado plays the Royal Concert Hall on Sunday 21 February, as part of the Sunday Piano Series. It's a solo piano recital, and Zado is the only name on the bill.
She's a Ukrainian pianist and a former child prodigy, described as a 'magician on the piano' whose playing explores the depths of emotion and the unspeakable through sound. That's the sort of thing that's easier to hear than read, but it gives you a sense of where the performance sits.
The concert is part of the Nottingham Classics Sunday Piano Series, which runs once a month from October to March as part of the city's International Concert Season. The series pairs some of the world's leading pianists with its brightest rising stars, and it's kept intentionally informal: each concert lasts around an hour, is introduced from the stage, and the 11am start is pitched as leaving plenty of time to head home for Sunday lunch. After the music, you can chat with the pianists in the bar.
