Informal piano recital by Leeds Piano Competition 2024 winner Jaeden Izik-Dzurko, with Chopin, Scriabin and Rachmaninov preludes.
Jaeden Izik-Dzurko plays the Royal Concert Hall on Sunday 18 April 2027, as part of the Sunday Piano Series. It's a solo recital, with Izik-Dzurko on piano, and it runs for an hour with no interval.
The programme brings together three big names in piano music. He opens with Chopin's Prelude in C-sharp minor, Op. 45, followed by a selection of Alexander Scriabin's Preludes, Op. 11, and then Rachmaninov's Preludes, Op. 23. It's a set built on preludes β those shorter, character-driven pieces that usually open a larger work β so it's a good way to hear three very different styles of piano writing in one sitting.
Izik-Dzurko is a name that's come up a lot in the classical world lately. He won the 2024 Leeds Piano Competition, one of the most prestigious prizes in the piano world, and has been praised for his maturity and deep emotional expression. If you've been following the competition circuit, this is a chance to hear him in a more relaxed setting than a contest stage.

The Sunday Piano Series is kept intentionally informal: each concert is introduced from the stage, and there's a chance to chat with the pianist in the bar afterwards. It's a good format if you're not used to the silence of a recital hall and fancy a bit of context before the music starts. The age guidance is 7+, and under-14s need to be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over.
Tickets are Β£11.00 for general admission, with under-26s and full-time students paying Β£5.00. The concert starts at 11:00am, with doors opening at 10:00am, so you've plenty of time to get settled before it kicks off.
