Winter gravel cycling series ride led by the Alpkit Foundation, suitable for riders of all abilities, with a warm brew and sticky bun at the start.
Alpkit is hosting another round of the Sonder Winter Gravel Series on Sunday 21 February, from 10:00 to 14:00. It's part of a social series of organised gravel rides that Alpkit runs from its stores across Britain throughout the winter, with this one starting and ending at the Alpkit Campus in Eastwood, just outside Nottingham.
The ride follows one of the brand's favourite local gravel routes, and it's self-supported: you carry everything you'd take on a solo ride and act as your own mechanic, with the changeable winter weather as the backdrop. It's pitched at roughly two to four hours and is suitable for riders of all abilities, so it works whether you're a regular on the gravel or just getting back into the saddle. Once you've signed up, you'll get a GPX route file sent over so you can follow the line on your head unit.
There's a bit of a reward at both ends, too. You'll start with a warm brew and a sticky bun, and when you roll back in, there's cake, hot drinks, and a warm soup with a bread roll waiting. If you're doing more than one, you'll collect a brevet card to stamp at each stage, and anyone who rides the whole series is crowned a 'gravel hero'.

It runs from 10:00 to 14:00 on Sunday 21 February at the Alpkit Campus, 3 Coombe Road, Newthorpe, NG16 3SU, Eastwood near Nottingham, and entry is £10, with all proceeds donated to the Alpkit Foundation.
