Soft Launch Social Presents: The (non office) Christmas Party

Soft Launch Social is hosting The (Non-Office) Christmas Party at Bustler Nottingham Food Hall on Wednesday 16 December, from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. It's run by Meigan Grattan, and the title is the whole point: it's for people who'd rather skip their work Christmas party, as well as the self-employed, remote workers and anyone else without a work party to go to.

Grattan has run speed-friending events before, but this is explicitly not one of them. There are no timed rounds and no shuffling. Instead, it's a relaxed Christmas night out with drinks, a festive atmosphere and conversation prompt cards to help you meet new people in a low-pressure environment. Most people turn up on their own, so you don't need to bring anyone with you.

If you're usually the one who finds the office party a bit much, or you're working for yourself and don't have a team to celebrate with, this is a way to get a festive night out without the work politics. The prompt cards take the edge off the small talk, so you've got something to start with if you're not sure what to say. It's a social night, not a structured event, so you can just drift and chat at your own pace.

It runs from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at Bustler Nottingham Food Hall on Freckingham Street, NG1 1DW, and tickets are £8.30.
