Untutored life drawing workshop with live poses at The Place in Sherwood, Nottingham, for adults 18+.
Sherwood Sunday Life Drawing is back at The Place on Sunday 1 November, running from 3pm to 5pm. It's an untutored session, which is the key thing to keep in mind: there's no teacher leading the room or giving a demonstration. You're there to draw, and how you do that is entirely up to you.
The format is straightforward. There's a live model posing for the duration, and you spend the afternoon working from them. Because it's untutored, you can work at your own pace, stick to one pose for as long as you like, or move through a few different sketches. It's as much about the process as the finished piece, and since there's no set curriculum, you can focus on whatever part of the figure you're actually interested in.
One practical detail to sort before you head over: you'll need to bring your own materials. Whether that's a sketchbook and a few pencils, charcoal, or something more elaborate, it's on you to provide. The session is for over-18s, so it's an adult environment throughout.
