Razorlight play Nottingham Rock City on their 'America' 20th Anniversary Tour, with support from The Molotovs.
Razorlight play Rock City on Tuesday 1 December, as part of their America 20th Anniversary Tour. They're supported by The Molotovs.
If you've followed them, you'll know the tour is built around America, the single that gave the band their first UK No.1. It's been twenty years since that release, and this winter they're taking the anniversary across the UK and Europe. The set will lean on that era, but they've got a fair bit of ground to cover since then.
Razorlight formed in London in 2002, when frontman Johnny Borrell left the solo troubadour life to team up with Swedish guitarist Björn Ågnen. They spent their early years straddling the emerging scenes in New York and Camden, drawing on angular, pop-inspired indie rock and post-Britpop cool. Between 2004 and 2006 they pulled hits from their debut Up All Night and the even more successful Razorlight, and tours with Queen and Oasis brought them to a wider audience. After a string of line-up changes, Borrell remained the only original member and put the band on hold in 2011 to focus on a solo career, returning the following year to mark the 10th anniversary of Up All Night. Their first new album in a decade, Olympus Sleeping, followed in 2018.
