Free evening at BACKLIT to explore Nottingham Black Archive's holdings and make a wearable badge in a hands-on activity.
Nottingham Black Archive are running Open Archive: Explore, Create and Make at BACKLIT on Friday 6 November, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. It's a two-hour session that they've built around the idea of 'where creativity meets discovery'.
The first half is the exploration part: you'll be digging through the archive's holdings of images, objects and ideas to uncover hidden stories and find inspiration. The second half is where you get hands-on with a badge-making activity, turning whatever you've discovered into a wearable creation to take home. It's a straightforward sequence — find something that speaks to you, then make something out of it.
They've aimed the evening at art lovers, collectors and exhibition enthusiasts, and it's held in a relaxed, welcoming space. The whole thing is supported by Nottingham City Council's Cultural Investment Fund. It's a free session, so you can just turn up and get stuck in.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Nottingham and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.
