Musical version of the film, with Gabriel Vick of the original London company playing Daniel, brought to Nottingham from the West End.
Mrs Doubtfire comes to the Theatre Royal & Royal Concert Hall from Tuesday 27 April to Sunday 16 May 2027, a three-week run that brings the West End production to Nottingham. Gabriel Vick, who was part of the original London company, takes the lead as Daniel.
If you know the story, you'll remember it: Daniel is an out-of-work actor who, after losing custody of his children in a messy divorce, creates the alter ego of a Scottish nanny, Euphegenia Doubtfire, just to stay in their lives. The thing is, the character starts taking on a life of its own, and Mrs Doubtfire ends up teaching Daniel more about how to be a father than he ever expected. It's a comedy that works because it's built on that one ridiculous premise, but it's the family side of it that gives it some real heart.
The stage production adds its own layer to the mix, with new songs, dazzling sets and dance numbers. The critics have been on board, too: Time Out called it "genuinely funny" and The Telegraph and Daily Express both described it as a "surefire hit."
