Legends Of Manchester comes to The Nest on Saturday 24 October, a double-header that puts two of the UK's biggest tribute bands on the same bill. The night is built around the music of Manchester's most famous exports, with The Absolute Stone Roses and Oasis Forever sharing the stage. If you've got a soft spot for the Madchester era, it's two of the city's biggest sounds in one go.
The Absolute Stone Roses take on the spirit, sound and swagger of the original Stone Roses, while Oasis Forever work through the band's singalong anthems. Between them, they cover the two acts that defined the Manchester scene for a huge chunk of people, so you'll get the baggy, dancey side of things alongside the big, loud choruses. It's a night that leans on the familiarity of those songs rather than anything new.
One thing to keep in mind is that the show is for over-14s only, so it's not one for the very young. If you're planning on bringing anyone along, that's worth checking before you book. The Nest is on Iremonger Road, NG2 3HU, and doors open at 19:00, so you've got plenty of time to get in and settle before things kick off.
