FWY Halloween special with Kojo Funds headlining, mixing Y2K R&B, hip-hop, Afrobeats and Amapiano at NG-ONE.
Kojo Funds takes the helm of the NG-ONE dancefloor on Tuesday 27 October, headlining a Halloween special for FWY. It's a late one, running from 11:15pm through to 3:00am, with last entry at midnight, so you've got a fair bit of the night ahead of you if you arrive early.
FWY—short for F*ck With You—is a club night that brings Y2K R&B, hip-hop, afrobeats and amapiano to dancefloors across the Midlands, and this Halloween special puts Kojo Funds in charge of the selection. The music spans a few different eras and corners of the globe, so there's plenty to hold onto throughout the night.
On the R&B side, the throwbacks go back to Usher, Ashanti, Nelly, TLC, Destiny's Child, Aaliyah, Mario, Ne-Yo, SZA, Rihanna and The Weeknd. The hip-hop runs through Drake, Gunna, Don Toliver, Future, Travis Scott, Central Cee and D-Block Europe. And the afrobeats and amapiano bring in Burna Boy, Wizkid, Rema, Asake, Ayra Starr, Tems, Tyla, Uncle Waffles, Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa. It's a broad reach, so you'll hear the early 2000s alongside more recent names from both sides of the Atlantic and beyond.
