Beginner-friendly screen printing evening led by local artist Jane Stockley, in which attendees design and print their own tote bag.
Jane Stockley is running a screen printing session at Florence Boot Hall on Tuesday 20 October, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. It's part of her time as artist in residence at the University of Nottingham's University Park Campus, and the whole thing is built around getting people to actually make something rather than just watch.
Stockley is a local Nottingham artist, and she's set this up as a beginner-friendly, hands-on evening. The idea is simple: you come along, try something new, and leave with something you've made yourself. Every attendee designs and prints their own tote bag to take home, so you're not just learning the process — you're walking away with a finished piece of work.
It's a practical, do-it-yourself kind of night, and because it's aimed at beginners, you don't need any prior experience to get involved. You'll be working through the screen printing process from start to finish, from the initial design to the final print on the bag. It's a good way to spend a couple of hours on a Tuesday evening if you've ever been curious about how it works but haven't had a reason to try it.

There is a catch on who can join in, though. Places are open to ResX-supported students living in University Park, Jubilee Campus, Sutton Bonington, and the listed halls, and tickets are booked through the university's student living page. If you fit that, it's free. The session runs from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at Florence Boot Hall on the University Park Campus.
