In-person embroidery workshop led by Hannah Glossop to explore Canadian smocking, part of The Embroiderers' Guild programme.
Hannah Glossop is leading a workshop on Canadian smocking at Hobbycraft on Saturday 20 March, from 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm. It's part of The Embroiderers' Guild's programme of in-person workshops, and this Nottingham date follows an earlier session of the same workshop in Derby, so it's one of a few chances to catch it in person.
The session is aimed at new stitchers, which makes it a good starting point if you've never tried smocking before. Canadian smocking is a particular style of hand-stitching that creates a textured, three-dimensional effect on fabric, and the workshop is built around getting you to grips with that. You'll spend the afternoon working through the technique with Glossop, so you'll leave with a proper handle on how it works rather than just a quick overview.

It's a mid-afternoon slot, running from 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm, which gives you plenty of time to get there and still have your evening free. The venue is Hobbycraft on Meadow Lane, number 2, Nottingham NG2 3GZ, right in the city. Tickets are £38.62, and the session runs for two and a half hours.
