Ballroom night 'House of Hockley' by Hockley Hussies and Queerish, a queer dance and ballroom series, at 15 Hockley.
Hockley Hussies and Queerish are taking over Movers on Saturday 24 October, for a queer-themed dance and party that runs from 14:00 to 22:00. It's a joint bill that brings together two of the city's more distinct queer nights under one roof for the afternoon and evening.
Queerish set up in 2024 and has since built its name on Queer Proms and ballroom nights that celebrate everything queer. House of Hockley is their ballroom, so that's the side of the night that leans into the ballroom tradition. The Hockley Hussies are the folk behind Queen Billy's drag show, which they describe as 'unapologetic and filthy' — a fair warning if you're expecting something polite.
Between the two, you've got the ballroom side of things and the drag side, so there's a good bit of ground covered. It's a dance and party, so the focus is on the floor rather than just watching from a seat. The whole thing runs from mid-afternoon right through to late evening, so you can roll in early and stay on, or just drop by for a few hours.

Movers is at 15 Hockley, NG1 1FH, in the heart of the Hockley area. It's step-free, with step-free entry and step-free access to the stage, so getting around is straightforward. There isn't an accessible toilet on site, though some wheelchairs can fit in the one that's there, and assistance dogs are welcome. The party runs from 14:00 to 22:00, so it's a proper afternoon-into-evening session.
