Magic and mediumship show 'Psychic Shuffle' by Fairywishes at the Johnson Arms in Nottingham.
Fairywishes Psychic Shuffle comes to Johnson Arms in Nottingham on Tuesday 1 December. It's a night that puts two different traditions on the same stage: magic and mediumship. The first half is the magic side of things, with the kind of sleight-of-hand and close-up tricks that work best when you're close enough to see them happen. The second half shifts into mediumship, where the focus moves from the tricks you can explain to the kind of work that's harder to pin down.
Having both in one show is what gives the night its name. You get the polished, deliberate side of magic and the more open, intuitive side of mediumship, and they're played out one after the other. It's a bit like seeing two different ways of looking at the same thing: one that's all about the skill of the performance and another that's about what happens when you stop trying to figure it out. If you've only ever seen one or the other, this is a good way to see them side by side.

It's a Tuesday night, so it's a mid-week thing rather than a weekend outing. The show starts at 18:30 at Johnson Arms, and tickets are £20.
