Evil Scarecrow play Rock City in Nottingham with support from Haggard Cat and Mother Vulture, for over-14s only.
Evil Scarecrow play Rock City on Saturday 16 January, with Haggard Cat and Mother Vulture opening the night. It's a curated evening of alternative music at one of Nottingham's established venues, and the two support acts give you a chance to hear some distinctive sounds from emerging names in the alternative scene before the main set.
Evil Scarecrow will be touring their latest album, Silicon Tea, which came out in October 2025. They describe it as laced with cynicism and irony, and one track, 'Shred the Evidence', is a good example of what they're talking about: it could be a light-hearted ode to binge drinking, a statement on post-hedonistic shame, or something else entirely. They released a video for it to coincide with the tour announcement, so that's a good place to start if you want to get a feel for the record before the show.
As for the band themselves, they say they mostly steer clear of politics and general misery, aiming to bring the fun instead, though they admit they can't ignore the madness of the times. That tension—the desire to keep things light while acknowledging the state of the world—is a good way into the record and the live show.
