Free bike safety and maintenance drop-in session at City Hospital.
Dr Bike is coming to City Hospital on Tuesday 8 December, with a free bike safety and maintenance drop-in session running from 9:00 AM. You'll find them outside the Cityside Restaurant, so if you're already on site for work or visiting, it's a quick detour to get your bike looked at.
It's a drop-in, which is the best part: you don't need to book a slot or wait for a formal appointment. You just roll up with your bike and let them have a look. The focus is on safety and maintenance, the kind of basic checks that keep a bike running properly and safely through the winter months. If you've noticed a rattle you can't quite place, a brake that's gone a bit soft, or gears that aren't shifting as smoothly as they used to, this is the time to get it sorted.
For anyone who doesn't usually tinker with their own bike, it's also a good chance to see how things work. Rather than just handing it over and getting it back fixed, you can watch what's being done and ask questions about how to keep it in shape yourself. It's as much about learning a few simple bits of maintenance as it is about the immediate fix.
