Creative wellbeing workshop using art therapy techniques to explore thoughts and emotions, for students living in University Park, Jubilee Campus and Sutton Bonington halls.
Create Your Calm is a creative wellbeing workshop running at the Sherwood Hall Wellbeing Lounge on the University Park campus this Wednesday 28 October, from 4:30pm to 6:30pm. It's led by a facilitator specialising in therapeutic art, and the whole session is built around using art to slow down and check in with yourself.
You'll be working with canvas, colour and a range of artistic mediums, guided through simple creative exercises inspired by art therapy techniques. The idea is to explore thoughts and emotions through colour, shapes, textures and imagery, rather than trying to produce a finished piece of art. It's aimed squarely at students who aren't artists: the focus is on using creativity to pause, express yourself and reflect on how you're thinking and feeling, not on the end result.
