Carly Paoli's third Christmas concert series, with special guest Paul Potts and children's choirs, mixing carols and festive songs.
Carly Paoli returns to The Albert Hall on Thursday 17 December, her third year running with this Christmas concert series. It's a Nottinghamshire-born soprano leading the night, and she's bringing in some company this time around: special guest Paul Potts joins her on stage.
There's more to the line-up than just the two of them, too. Three children's choirs are part of the evening — Direction Theatre Arts, Stagecoach Southwell, and the Midlands Academy of Dance and Drama (MADD College) — so there'll be plenty of young voices mixed in with the soloists. The set itself is a blend of carols, festive cheer and Christmas songs, and it runs for around three hours.
For those who haven't come across her yet, Paoli is an English singer of Italian roots and a Classical Brit nominee. She's known for her interpretations of Italian music, including a tribute to the late Mia Martini and the song Almeno tu nell'universo, so that Italian influence often sits close to the surface of her work. This being the third edition of her Christmas series, it's a bit of a fixture in her calendar now.
