Black Stone Cherry play Rock City on Talbot Street in Nottingham on their The Celebrate Tour, with over-14s only.
Black Stone Cherry play Rock City on Tuesday 26 January, one of 17 dates on their Celebrate Tour. They're a Kentucky band that's been keeping the southern rock tradition alive since they formed in 2001, and this is a proper headlining show rather than a support slot. Chris Robertson is on vocals and guitar, with Ben Wells on guitar and vocals, John Fred Young on drums and Steve Jewell Jr. on bass and backing vocals.
They're touring their eighth album, Screamin' At The Sky, which came out in 2024. It was self-produced and recorded at The Plaza Theater in Glasgow, Kentucky, a 1,020-seat venue built in 1934. That's a bit of a nod to where they come from — a Kentucky theatre for a Kentucky band. Their previous record, The Human Condition, was their sixth consecutive No. 1 debut on the UK Rock Albums chart, so they've got a long-running connection with listeners over here.
They've played a fair few stages since those early days. They've headlined 12,000-capacity arena shows and played to 100,000 people at the 2018 Download Festival supporting Guns N' Roses, and they played the Royal Albert Hall in 2021. The Nottingham date is part of a 17-date tour, and the show is restricted to over-14s.
