Narrative Warhammer 40k Horus Heresy doubles event run by Forge of Possibilities, with four games per pair and an optional Saturday night megagame.
Against Those Dark Powers is a Warhammer: The Horus Heresy narrative event taking place at The Greenway Centre in Sneinton on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 November. It's run by Forge of Possibilities, who have staged the Goonhammer Open Heresy events for the past three years and who describe their approach as prizing narrative spectacle over competition. There are no personal awards for winning the most games or for the highest victory points.
The story is set on the shipyard planet of Murandee VI. The Imperium's Task Force Adjurity, gathered by the Sigilite, clashes with a cabal of traitor sorcerers led by the XVth and XVIIth legions, who are attempting to materialise demons. The narrative is rounded out with allies like a Grand Soladity of Custodians, a kill-team of Silent Sisters and magos of the True Mechanicum.
On the table, it's a doubles event: each pair of players brings a 1500pt force, making a 3000pt doubles force across four games. There's also an optional Saturday night megagame, The Assault on Castle Hedregar, for those who want to keep going after the day's play. The event runs from 9 am to 5 pm on both days, so it's a full weekend of gaming.
