Choir performance by Atmosphere Choir, presented by We Shall Overcome, at Emmanuel House during the Hockley Hustle festival.
Atmosphere Choir are performing at Emmanuel House on Sunday 25 October, from 12:30 to 19:00. The set is presented by We Shall Overcome, a grassroots anti-austerity movement coordinated here in Nottingham by poet Lytisha Tunbridge and Peter Yeandle. They put on poetry and music gigs with donations going to local homelessness services.
It's part of Hockley Hustle, the multi-venue music and arts festival that's run every year across Hockley since 2006. The festival is also a registered charity: a single wristband gets you into every venue, and the proceeds go to local causes. More than £200,000 has been raised for Nottingham charities over the years.
This is a milestone year for both the festival and Emmanuel House, a Nottingham charity that works with people who are homeless, in crisis, and at risk of homelessness. For one day only, its Support Centre is transformed into a performance space, with cakes and hot drinks on offer. The choir's performance is one of the many acts taking part across the neighbourhood that day.
