Charity abseil from the top of The Forum in Norwich down to Millennium Plain to support Star Throwers Cancer Support Charity.
Star Throwers are taking over The Forum on Sunday 18 October for their charity abseil, with the descent starting from the top of the building and ending down at Millennium Plain. Before you head over the edge, you'll have a proper look across the city from up there, so it's a good chance to see Norwich from a height most of us never get.
The whole thing is in aid of Star Throwers Cancer Support, a local charity that provides free support to people affected by cancer. That covers a fair bit: specialist nurse appointments, counselling, complementary therapies, support groups, and wellbeing services. It's the kind of thing that makes a real difference to people going through it, and the abseil is one way they raise the funds to keep those services running.
If you've never done anything like this before, don't let that put you off. You don't need any previous experience; qualified instructors are on hand throughout the day to provide full training and support, so they'll get you sorted before you start your descent. You do need to be at least 10 years old to take part, and anyone under 18 will need permission from a parent or legal guardian. Everyone has to complete and sign a consent form, too.

There are two ways to enter. You can go for a Fundraising Place, which is a £20 registration fee plus a minimum sponsorship commitment of £130. Or, if you'd rather not worry about the fundraising, there's a Self-Funded Place for a £150 registration fee. Both options include a branded event T-shirt and a certificate to mark the day. It runs from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm at The Forum, NR2 1TF.
