A free drop-in lunchtime meet-up for adults to browse and share beautiful and unusual picture books, run by The Telling Stories Press CIC.
The Telling Stories Press CIC are hosting Picture Books for Lunch at The Forum on Friday 30 October, from 12.15pm to 1.15pm. It's a drop-in session for adults who love picture books, and the whole thing fits into a single lunch hour. The idea is simple: you spend the hour pouring over a selection of beautiful and unusual titles, and you're encouraged to bring along a couple of your own favourite books to share with the others. It's as much about browsing as it is about swapping recommendations.
The session is run by The Telling Stories Press CIC, a Norwich-based social enterprise. They describe their mission as listening for stories and storytellers that are often unheard, misheard or misunderstood, and supporting people and organisations to tell their own illustrated narratives through innovative, hard-working books. That focus on the unheard and the misunderstood comes through in the kind of books they bring to the table — the unusual and the striking rather than the usual suspects.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Norwich and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

If you've got a picture book you've always loved but rarely get to talk about, this is a good place to bring it. You can spend the hour looking through what they've put out and chatting about what you find, or just drift in and out as your lunch break allows. It's free and drop-in, so there's no need to book ahead. You'll find it in The Gallery at The Forum, Millennium Plain, NR2 1TF, on Friday 30 October from 12.15pm to 1.15pm.
