Norwich Market has a lot of competition for lunch, but Italian Street Food has carved out a genuine following over at Stalls 91 and 104 on Row D, right in the middle of Market Place. It's the kind of place that works as well for a quick weekday lunch as it does for a proper sit-down meal when you're not in a rush, and it's not hard to see why: the food is made fresh to order, the puccia bread is baked daily, and the prices stay firmly in the market-stall bracket.

The pizzas are the obvious starting point. They're Neapolitan-style, built on a San Marzano tomato base with mozzarella, basil and extra virgin olive oil across the board, and the range covers everything from a simple Marinara at £7.50 to a loaded Quattro Stagioni at £11.00. In between you'll find the Margherita at £8.50, Ham and Pepperoni both at £9.50, a Vegetariana with artichoke, black olives, mushrooms and onion also at £9.50, and a Classica with ham and mushrooms at £10.00. For something with a bit more going on, there's the Capricciosa at £10.50, a Grilled Chicken version with red onion at £10.50, and a Di Carne with minced meat and red onion also at £10.50. If you'd rather something folded, the calzones come in Classic, Vegetariana, Salamina and Quattro Stagioni, all at £11.00 each.
What sets the place apart from a standard pizza stall, though, is the puccia. It's a traditional Italian street bread, baked fresh every morning, and it's what the burgers are served on. The Chicken and Beef burgers both come in at £8.00, served with salad, chips and sauces, and you can add extra cheese for 50p. If you're after something to eat on the move, there's a Chicken Wrap with salad, sauce and chips for £8.00, and a range of boxes — Chicken at £10.00, Beef at £10.00 and a Mixed box with both chicken and meat for £12.00, all served with salad and chips. A side portion of chips is £4.00, and an extra flatbread with stew sauce is £1.00.
It's the consistency that keeps people coming back. The stall sits at 4.8 out of 5 stars from more than 200 Google reviews, with the friendly, attentive staff and the restaurant-quality food at market prices being the things that come up most. It's also become a bit of a fixture after football matches, which tells you something about how well it handles a crowd.
Opening hours are straightforward: 11am to 8pm Monday to Saturday, and 11am to 5pm on Sundays, so it's there for lunch and dinner most days of the week. Both card and cash are taken, which is handy if you're browsing the rest of the market. It's worth noting that while it was on Uber Eats back in 2023, it's currently closed on the platform, so the best way to get it is to head down to the market in person.
