The Dualers, a nine-piece Jamaican R&B band, perform live with special guests Skandals at NX Newcastle.
The Dualers play NX Newcastle on Saturday 17 October, with Skandals supporting. They're a nine-piece Jamaican Rhythm & Blues band from South-East London, fronted by brothers Si and Tyber Cranstoun, who started out busking the streets. They first made headlines when their debut single 'Kiss on the Lips' entered the UK charts at number 21 in 2004, and they did it without a record contract, distributor, agent or manager. Their follow-up, 'Truly Madly', ended up in the Hollywood film Fools Gold.
Since then they've released two top 30 UK albums, a second number two in the independent album charts, and played Wembley Arena, Manchester Apollo and a record 14 sold-out shows at Indigo at the O2. There's a family line to it too: their father, Bill Cranstoun, was instrumental in bringing ska and soul to London through his Savoy Sound System in the 1960s. The band are now veterans of 25 years, and this tour is built around new tracks from their album Beach Life, played alongside the classic hits that made them.

On the night, the set will draw from both: the newer material from Beach Life and the older songs they're known for. Skandals open the bill, so it's two acts on the one ticket. The show runs from 18:00 to 22:00 at NX Newcastle on Westgate Road, NE1 1SW, and tickets are £29.50 plus booking fee.
