A monster-filled, family-friendly Halloween storytime for children, with friendly ghosts and wicked witches.
Seven Stories is running Spooktacular Storytimes from Saturday 24 October to Sunday 1 November, a monster-filled Halloween storytime for families. It's a few days' run rather than a one-off, so you've got a fair bit of leeway on when to take the kids.
The whole thing is built around the Halloween theme, and the organisers are encouraging children to turn up in their best outfits, so it's a good excuse to get the costumes out early. As for what's actually on, they're promising friendly ghosts, wicked witches and things that go bump in the night. It's a family-friendly take on the spooky side of the season, so it's more about the fun of the costumes and the stories than anything truly frightening.
Seven Stories is the National Centre for Children's Books, based on Lime Street in Ouseburn, so it's right in the heart of the Ouseburn Valley. If you're coming from the city centre, it's a short trip over to the valley, and there's plenty of other things to do around there if you want to make a proper day of it.
