A festive night of fun on Newcastle's outdoor ice rink where skaters are invited to wear pyjamas and festive dress, with Christmas music and hot chocolate afterwards.
Pyjama Skate comes to Newcastle's outdoor ice rink in Times Square, just outside the Life Science Centre, on Sunday 22 November and Sunday 29 November. It's new this year, and the whole thing is built around turning up in your pyjamas and festive dress. The organisers describe it as feeling like you've been chosen to ride the Polar Express, with Christmas music playing while you glide across the ice.
The rink is real ice, not synthetic, and it's open to skaters of all ages and abilities, so it works as well for a family outing as it does for a night out with friends. Each session runs for about an hour, which includes time to get your skates on, leaving around 45 minutes of actual time on the ice. When you're finished, everyone warms up with a cup of hot chocolate.

There are two sessions on each of the two dates: 5pm and 6pm on both Sundays. A family of four — with a maximum of two adults — is £57.50, adults (18+) are £18.00, and children (17 and under) are £16.50. Carers go free. All paid tickets include a regular hot chocolate, and if you need skating aids, they're hireable on the day for £6.00 for children under 1.2m. The rink is in Times Square, just outside the Life Science Centre in Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 4EP.
