A day of frighteningly fun Halloween activities with crafts, games, tales, a forest school session, a spider trail and a Halloween disco.
Great North Museum: Hancock is taking over for Halloween on Friday 30 October, with a full day of activities running from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm. It's a drop-in, so you don't need to book ahead — you can just turn up whenever suits you and pick your way through what's on.
The day fills the museum with a mix of crafts, games and tales of local lore and legends, with the storytelling drawing on the region's own folklore. There's a spider trail to follow through the galleries, a forest school session for those who want to get stuck into something outdoorsy, and a Halloween disco to round it all off. It's set up so you can do as much or as little as you fancy, rather than following a set timetable.
Because it's a drop-in, it works well if you're just passing through or want to bring the kids in for a few hours without committing the whole day. You can drift from the crafts to the games, stop for a story, and then head over to the disco when the evening rolls around.
