A free drop-in craft session for children aged 4 to 11 to create Halloween-themed cards, masks and pictures as part of the Hatton Gallery's Ways to Play programme.
Halloween Makes is at the Hatton Gallery on Wednesday 28 October, from 10:30am to 12:30pm. It's a free drop-in session for children aged 4 to 11, so you can just turn up with the kids and let them get stuck in.
The morning is all about Halloween crafts: they'll be making cards, masks and pictures, with plenty of materials on hand to work with. It's a drop-in, which is the best part — you don't need to be there right at the start, and you don't have to stay until the end. If you've only got an hour to spare, that's plenty of time for a few cards and a mask; if you're happy to settle in for the full two, they can keep going.
It's part of the gallery's Ways to Play programme, a series of free and low-cost family activities. The whole thing is sponsored by Tyne and Wear Metro, and they're encouraging people to travel to the gallery by Metro or the Shields Ferry. If you do, up to three children aged 11 and under travel free on both with a fare-paying adult, which is a handy bit of info if you're coming from across the city or over from the coast.
