A family Halloween trail with a hunt for 12 Halloween-themed vinyls around Eldon Square, with goody bags for children and free face painting.
Eldon Square is turning into a Halloween trail on Saturday 31 October, with the Eldon Scare Trail running from 9:00am to 3:00pm. It's run in partnership with Tyneside & Northumberland Mind, so every ticket price goes to support local mental health services.
The trail starts at the Community Quarter, where children get a sheet and set off around the centre to find 12 hidden Halloween-themed vinyls. Each one reveals a letter, and once they've found them all, they'll have a mystery word to piece together. When the sheet is complete, they take it back to the witches at the Community Quarter to trade it in for a Halloween goody bag and an official Eldon Scare Certificate of Completion. A few of the bags also have an Eldon Square Gift Card inside, worth between Β£10 and Β£50.
Beyond the trail, there's free face painting and free roaming characters appearing throughout the day β Beaste the monster, Esme the witch, the Pumpkin Heads, and Halloween stilt walkers. Centre Director Helen Cowie described it as a chance to enjoy a day out together while supporting mental health services in the local community.

The trail itself is Β£3 per child, plus a booking fee, with the full Β£3 going to Tyneside & Northumberland Mind. It runs from 9:00am to 3:00pm on Saturday 31 October at the Community Quarter in Eldon Square, Newcastle upon Tyne.
