Award-winning South African blues-rock guitarist and singer-songwriter Dan Patlansky performs live at The Cluny.
Dan Patlansky plays The Cluny on Wednesday 25 November, starting at 7:00 PM. He's a South African blues-rock guitarist and singer-songwriter with eleven studio albums behind him, and this is a headline show with him as the sole name on the bill.
If you're not familiar with the name, he's a highly rated player who's spent the last decade building a serious discography. He's one of only two artists, alongside Joe Bonamassa, to have landed two number-one and two number-two Best Blues Rock Albums at Blues Rock Review USA. Dear Silence Thieves (2014) and Introvertigo (2016) both topped the global rankings, followed by Perfection Kills (2018) and Shelter of Bones (2022) in the upper reaches. His most recent record, Movin', came out in 2024 and was voted third Best Blues Rock Album of the Year.
Beyond the chart numbers, he's played some massive stages. A defining moment came in February 2014, when Bruce Springsteen personally selected him to open for him at Johannesburg's FNB Stadium before a crowd of 64,000. He's also supported Joe Satriani and toured with King King, so he's well-used to sharing the stage with some of the biggest names in the genre.
