MarQue Munday brings The Burt Bacharach Songbook to Flamingos LIVE in Newcastle on Tuesday 27 October, with special guest EC Adams and a full live band. It's a tribute to Bacharach, whom they describe as the definitive composer of timeless pop, whose music shaped a generation.
The set runs through his best-known songs, including 'Walk On By', 'I Say a Little Prayer', 'Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head', 'Anyone Who Had a Heart', 'What's New Pussycat', 'Close to You', 'Alfie', 'The Look of Love' and 'Magic Moments'. Those are the ones made famous by Dionne Warwick, Aretha Franklin, Dusty Springfield, Tom Jones, The Carpenters, Cilla Black and Perry Como.
Munday arrives direct from Las Vegas, and the show is billed as a definitive tribute to Bacharach's work. With EC Adams on as special guest and a full live band backing them, the songs get a proper live treatment rather than just a couple of voices over a track.
