Film club showcasing Nordic cinema at the Tower Cinema in Newcastle, held on the first Tuesday of every month.
Pappa Sven's Nordic Film Club is bringing a selection of Nordic cinema to the Tower Cinema on King Street, with screenings running on the first Tuesday of every month from Tuesday 7 April through to Thursday 31 December 2026. It's a long-haul programme rather than a one-off, so you can drop in for a single night or keep coming back across the year.
The club focuses on cinema from the Nordic countries, and the organisers describe it as a way to transport yourself into Nordic life through film. If you've got a soft spot for the region's storytelling, it's a good excuse to spend a Tuesday evening in a dark theatre rather than at home.
All the screenings are at the Tower Cinema, 183 King Street, Newcastle, 2300. Because it's a monthly thing, you don't have to commit to the whole run — you can just pick the dates that work for you. The programme kicks off on Tuesday 7 April and continues on the first Tuesday of each month until the end of the year, with the final screening on Thursday 31 December.
