A high-energy celebration of local punk culture with live music, DIY alley, food trucks and a bar.
NM:PM: PUNK! lands at the Newcastle Museum on Thursday 1 October, from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. It's a free, all-ages, drop-in night presented by New Annual and Newcastle Museum with support from Create NSW, so there's no need to book ahead.
The music is the main draw, with Boudicca, No Reason, Bitchcraft and The Porkers sharing the bill. The organisers describe it as a loud and unapologetically local celebration of Newcastle punk culture, delivered at full volume with a stacked lineup. It's an all-ages night, so you can bring the younger ones along.
There's more to do than just watch the bands. DIY Alley is set up for you to make your own zines, posters, badges and fashion, and there's a human-sized claw machine to test your luck. You'll also find vintage footage of the city's most legendary gigs on screen, with food trucks, a bar and merch on hand throughout the night.

A few things to keep in mind before you head in: there's a sensory and content warning for loud music, dark spaces, concert lighting, smoke machines and coarse language. The museum is wheelchair and mobility scooter friendly. It runs from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm, and entry is free.
