Weekly Tuesday night of live improvised jazz at The Underground in The Grand Hotel, presented by the Newcastle Improvised Music Association.
Live Jazz returns to The Underground on Tuesday 20 October, kicking off a run that goes every Tuesday night through to 22 December. The music starts at 8pm, and since it's a weekly thing, you've got plenty of chances to catch it over the next few months rather than just one night.
What you'll hear is high-calibre improvised jazz, played in an intimate listening environment that the organisers say resembles the New York jazz clubs of the 1920s. The musicians come from near and far, so the line-up changes from week to week. If you're more of a jammer than a listener, the jazz jams happen on Thursday nights instead.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Newcastle and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.
