Disney's Frozen the Musical brings the animated classic to life on stage, featuring all the iconic songs and sensational new numbers, with a live orchestra and special effects.
Disney's Frozen opens at the Civic Theatre on 10 October, bringing the animated film to the stage as a full musical. It's recommended for ages five and over, so it's one of those shows that works as a family outing.
The songs you know from the film are all there: 'Let It Go', 'Do You Want to Build a Snowman?' and 'For the First Time in Forever'. Those are joined by new numbers written specifically for the stage, so there's a bit more to the score than what you'll find on the soundtrack. The music and lyrics are by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, with the book by Jennifer Lee, and the production was originally directed on Broadway by Michael Grandage.
On stage, it's a live orchestra providing the music, with visual effects, sets, costumes and special effects meant to transport the audience to Arendelle. The story follows the same characters you'll recognise: Elsa, Anna, Olaf, Kristoff and Sven. The production is licensed by Disney Theatrical Group and presented by The Very Popular Theatre Company.
