Delta Goodrem brings PURE tour to Newcastle

Newcastle is on the list for one of the biggest Australian tours of 2027. Delta Goodrem is bringing her PURE World Tour to the Newcastle Entertainment Centre on Thursday 8 April, the first stop of an eight-city run that takes in Sydney, Wollongong, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and Hobart over the course of the month.

It is a big moment for a singer who has been a fixture of Australian pop since her debut. Delta Lea Goodrem AM, born in Sydney in 1984, has sold more than nine million albums, clocked five number-one records and nine number-one singles, and walked away with an ARIA Artist of the Decade title. The PURE tour follows a globally acclaimed Eurovision Song Contest performance, a sold-out run through the UK and Europe, and the release of the singles 'Eclipse' and 'Hologram'.

For anyone who wants a sense of what to expect, the tour had a warm-up. A one-off, intimate show called PURE: Prelude played at Liberty Hall in Sydney on 14 July, with doors at 7pm and tickets going on sale the week before. The setlist from that night gives a good idea of the shape of the show: 'Believe Again', 'Born to Try', 'Wings', 'Feline', 'Innocent Eyes', 'In This Life', 'Back to Your Heart' paired with 'The Best', 'Warrior', 'Hearts on the Run', 'Not Me, Not I', 'Out of the Blue', 'Predictable', a verse and chorus of 'Together We Are One', 'Hologram', 'Sitting on Top of the World', 'Lost Without You' and 'Eclipse'. 'Winner Takes It All' was listed but did not make the cut, and there was a tape-backed conga moment in the middle.

Before the Australian leg, the tour does a lap of the UK and Europe across February and March, with dates in Glasgow, Brighton, Manchester, York, Bath, London, Belfast, Dublin, Paris, Cologne, Amsterdam, Berlin, Warsaw, Munich, Vienna, Hamburg, Oslo and Athens. The Australian run then picks up speed after Newcastle, heading to Sydney on 10 April, Wollongong on 11 April, Brisbane on 13 April, Melbourne on 16 April, Adelaide on 19 April, Perth on 22 April and Hobart on 26 April.

The venue is one Newcastle knows well. The Newcastle Entertainment Centre sits within the Newcastle Showground on Griffith Road in Broadmeadow, about six minutes from the city centre, and is built for this kind of scale, with flexible configurations, retractable seating and up to 4,100 square metres of open exhibition space. It has hosted plenty of big names over the years, and it is a practical spot for a show of this size.

On the music front, the tour sits alongside a busy recent run of releases. 'Eclipse' came out on 1 March 2026 and 'Hologram' followed on 26 June, both on Better Now Records, and the PURE album itself is the latest chapter in a discography that stretches back to Innocent Eyes in 2003, through Mistaken Identity in 2004, Delta in 2007, Child of the Universe in 2012, Wings of the Wild in 2016 and Bridge Over Troubled Dreams in 2021, not to mention the acoustic and Christmas records in between. With the Newcastle show landing on 8 April, it is the first Australian date of the run, so it is the one to keep an eye on.
