Bluegrass and Americana tribute concert at the CMA Theater marking the 80th anniversary of the Stanley Brothers and their Country Music Hall of Fame induction.
The Stanley Brothers are being honored at the Country Music Hall of Fame on Wednesday, October 28, with a tribute titled Where the Soul Never Dies. The concert marks two things at once: the 80th anniversary of the brothers and their induction into the Hall of Fame. It's a big bill of bluegrass and Americana names coming together in one room, and they're playing inside the museum's own CMA Theater.
The lineup is a long one. Shawn Camp, Jim Lauderdale, and Tim O'Brien are all on the bill, and Chris Eldridge brings the flatpicking. There are a few groups in the mix, too: Della Mae, with Kimber Ludiker, Avril Smith, Vickie Vaughn and Celia Woodsmith; The First Ladies of Bluegrass, featuring Alison Brown, Becky Buller, Sierra Hull, Missy Raines and Molly Tuttle; and Jeff Hanna, Jaime Hanna and Ross Holmes of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. Justin Moses is on the list as well, and Ralph Stanley II will be there with the Clinch Mountain Boys. The organizers have said there are more names to be announced, so this isn't the full list yet.
