The Mummy Pop Up Bar

Honeytree Meadery is turning into an ancient Egyptian sanctuary for a few weeks this October. Starting Thursday, October 15, they're running The Mummy Pop Up Bar, a themed takeover that keeps going through Saturday, October 31. If you've got a soft spot for the 1999 movie, this is right up your alley.

The whole place gets a makeover for the month, with tomb-worthy decor taking over the space. While you're there, you can sip on what they're calling 'the drink of the ancients'—which, given the venue, is a nod to mead's long history. The pop-up leans into the camp of the 1999 film, so it's more about the fun of the movie than anything too serious. And there's a bit of a prize involved: one lucky adventurer walks away with a life-size cutout of Brendan Fraser as Rick O'Connell.

It's a good one to keep in the back of your mind for the second half of October. Since it runs from the 15th through Halloween, you've got plenty of time to swing by whenever you're in the neighborhood. The cutout giveaway is the kind of thing that makes it worth a visit even if you're just in it for the drinks.
