A monthly record show-and-tell hosted by DJ Marquis Munson where attendees share favourite albums and music memories.
DJ Marquis Munson hosts The Flipside at Vinyl Tap on Monday, October 19, from 6:30 to 9:30 PM. It's a monthly record show-and-tell, and the premise is as simple as it sounds: you bring a record you wish everyone could hear, and Munson spins a side of it to guide the conversation.
That record can be whatever you want it to be. It might be a favorite album you've had on repeat for years, a piece of music tied to a specific memory, an overlooked artist you're tired of keeping to yourself, or just something you've been excited about lately. Once it's on the turntable, the music takes the lead and the conversation follows. There's no requirement to be an expert or a criticβjust a music lover with a record they're happy to share.
The Flipside is a new monthly series, so this is one of its early runs. It's less of a formal performance and more of a night spent listening and talking about why certain albums stick with us. If you've got a record that always makes you think of someone or something, this is a good place to put it on and tell the story behind it.
