A musical comedy celebrating the wonderfully weird Addams family, featuring songs by Andrew Lippa and characters like Wednesday and Gomez Addams.
The Addams Family is playing at Studio Tenn from October 8 to 25, a multi-week run that puts the kooky clan on a Nashville stage. It's a musical comedy that celebrates the wonderfully weird, and if you've never seen it, the setup is pretty classic: Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, falls for Lucas Beineke, a sweet and perfectly normal young man. She begs her father, Gomez, to keep the secret from her mother, Morticia, and when Lucas and his very normal parents finally come to dinner at the Addams mansion, things go south fast. It's a night of shocking confessions, hilarious culture clashes, and family chaos.
The score is by composer Andrew Lippa, with a book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice. The show is built around infectious songs, outrageous comedy, and the family's iconic characters, and it leans into what makes us different and the idea that love is meant to be unconditional. It's rated PG for mild scary images and the use of weapons, with an age recommendation of 13+, so it's something you can bring the kids to as long as they're okay with a little bit of the macabre. The show runs two hours and 30 minutes, which includes a 15-minute intermission.

There's a Talk Back performance on Sunday, October 18, at 1 PM, and an ASL-interpreted performance on Saturday, October 17, at 2 PM. If you're planning your visit, it's worth knowing that tickets start at $30, with a few ways to save: student and industry rush is $25 at the box office up to 90 minutes before showtime, military and veterans get 15% off, educators get 15% off, and groups of eight or more get 25% off. The run goes through October 25, so you've got a few weeks to find a night that works.
