A Halloween-themed cabaret night featuring Stephanie Adlington's jazz vocals, ghoulish craft cocktails and New Orleans cuisine, with a costume contest.
Stephanie Adlington takes over Rudy's Jazz Room on Saturday, October 31, for a Halloween night she's calling The Witching Hour. It's a double set—two back-to-back performances—that pairs her vocal interpretations of old-school jazz with ghoulish craft cocktails and New Orleans cuisine. The music draws from the days of juke joints and speakeasies, and the setlist leans on the classics: songs by Billie Holiday, Johnny Mercer, and others.
Adlington is a Nashville favorite, often called the 'Siren of the South,' and she brings a serious pedigree to the stage. Born and raised in Grafton, West Virginia, she's a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music in London, and she also studied at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester and Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. That mix of training shows up in the way she handles these standards—they're familiar songs, but she gives them her own voice.
Since it's Halloween, the night is built around more than just the music. The cocktails are themed, the food is New Orleans-style, and costumes are strongly encouraged, with a prize awarded for the best one. It's the kind of evening where you can lean into the holiday without having to leave the room.
