Concert by Latin Grammy-winning Mexican singer-songwriter Silvana Estrada at City Winery Nashville.
Silvana Estrada plays the main stage at City Winery on Tuesday, October 13. She's a Mexican singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist whose work pulls from Latin American tradition, indie folk, and jazz, all held together by her Venezuelan cuatro. Her debut album, Marchita, won her the Latin GRAMMY for Best New Artist, and her self-produced follow-up, Vendrán Suaves Lluvias, ranked third on Rolling Stone's Best Latin Albums of the Year. The single "Como un Pájaro" from that record earned a Latin GRAMMY nomination for Best Singer-Songwriter Song and has more than 30 million streams.
Estrada has spent the last few years working across a wide range of styles and stages. She's collaborated with Natalia Lafourcade, Gustavo Dudamel and the LA Philharmonic, Laufey, and Andrew Bird. She's appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and performed twice for NPR's Tiny Desk—one of those filmed in her childhood home in Coatepec, a mountain town in Veracruz where both her parents are luthiers. Dazed called her "the Gen Z, Latin American answer to Joni Mitchell."
