A pedal steel guitar showcase featuring Slash, Lloyd Green, Marty Stuart and other renowned musicians, presented by the Sho-Bud Music Foundation.
Sho-Bud Showcase LIVE comes to the Ryman Auditorium on Tuesday, October 27, a one-night jamboree that puts the pedal steel guitar front and center. The evening is presented by the Sho-Bud Music Foundation, a charitable initiative that works to empower adaptive minds, bodies, and souls through music and preserves the original Sho-Bud Showcase tapes for future generations. Proceeds from the night go to the Foundation and its partners, including the Cerebral Palsy Foundation, the Myositis Research Fund, and the Tennessee Suicide Prevention Network.
Billed as a continuation of Shot Jackson's legacy, the show brings together the players who defined the pedal steel and the artists who carried it into rock, country, and everything in between. The lineup is a long one: Slash, Lloyd Green, Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives, Robert Randolph, Jeff 'Skunk' Baxter, Don Felder, Dan Dugmore, Marcus King, Rocco DeLuca, Eddy Dunlap, Sarah Jory, Andrea Whitt, Hatfield Rain, Ed Williams, Johnny Cox, Tim Sergent, Cody Parks, Jon Carin, Daniel Davies, and Saxon Weiss. It's a cross-section of the instrument's reach, from the country roots of Lloyd Green and Marty Stuart to the rock associations of Slash and Don Felder.
The Ryman, which opened in 1892 and is known as the mother church of country music, has hosted defining performances of American music for more than a century, from Dolly Parton and Johnny Cash to Coldplay and Taylor Swift. This particular night is recommended for fans of The Time Jumpers, Paul Franklin, Ray Price, Asleep at the Wheel, and Vince Gill.
