Shenandoah celebrates 40 years with a headline concert at the historic Ryman Auditorium, joined by special guests.
Shenandoah are playing the Ryman Auditorium on Wednesday, October 28, at 7:30 PM, joined by special guests. It's a milestone for the band: their first-ever headlining show at the Ryman. Marty Raybon called it "a once-in-a-career moment," and it's easy to see why. They've been around for four decades, and this is the first time they've stepped up to the top of the bill at the Mother Church.
Shenandoah formed in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, in the mid-1980s and grew into one of country music's most recognizable groups, with Raybon's distinctive vocals leading the way. Over the years, they've picked up Grammy, CMA, and ACM awards. Their catalog runs deep, with classics like "Two Dozen Roses," "Church on Cumberland Road," "Next to You, Next to Me," "Sunday in the South," and "I Want to Be Loved Like That." The Grammy winner in the mix is "Somewhere in the Vicinity of the Heart," which they recorded with Alison Krauss.
They've reached a new generation of listeners through recent collaborations, too. A new version of "Two Dozen Roses" featuring Luke Combs and "Sunday in the South" featuring Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan both hit No. 1 on the iTunes All-Genre Chart. Between the old hits and the newer takes, they've put out platinum records and more than one billion career streams.
