Sawyer Brown brings their high-energy blend of country, rock and fan-favorite hits to Ryman Auditorium.
Sawyer Brown play the Ryman Auditorium on Friday, November 13, 2026, at 8 PM. It's a country, rock blend that leans on the hits they've been playing live for decades.
The band's history is a Nashville story in itself. They formed in 1981 at a Pizza Hut in Apopka, Florida, when lead singer Mark Miller asked keyboardist Gregg 'Hobie' Hubbard to play piano for songs he'd written. They met the rest of the group in Nashville and first called themselves 'Savanah,' later renaming themselves after Sawyer Brown Road, the street where they rehearsed. In 1983, they auditioned for Star Search, won the $100,000 grand prize and a record contract, and scored a Top 20 hit with 'Leona' in 1984 before their first number one, 'Step That Step.'
They've always found their strongest ground live, and a 1989 remake of George Jones's 'The Race Is On' put them back near the top of the charts. After guitarist Bobby Randall left in 1991, Duncan Cameron took his place, the band moved to Curb Records and released a string of hits in the early-to-mid '90s, including the 1999 Top 10 hit 'Drive Me Wild.' They left Curb in 2003 for Lyric Street Records and re-signed with Curb in 2004 when guitarist Shayne Hill joined.
