Sasha McVeigh

Sasha McVeigh plays Miranda Lambert's Casa Rosa on Tuesday, October 13, at 6 PM. It's a single-bill night, so she's the only act on the program.

McVeigh is a British country singer-songwriter from Hereford, England, who moved to Nashville to build her career. She wrote her first song when she was twelve, and since then she's become the only British artist to perform on several prominent main stages at US festivals. She describes her music as sitting across contemporary country, country, and country pop.

Her connection to the genre goes back to childhood: she grew up with CMT on in the background, and she cites it as her early inspiration. That British-to-Nashville trajectory is a good way to frame what she does—a songwriter from the West Midlands who made the move to the heart of the country music world to work within the tradition. Her set will draw from that contemporary country and country pop sound she's been building since those first songs she wrote as a kid.

If you're heading down, the show is at Miranda Lambert's Casa Rosa, 308 Broadway, in the middle of downtown Nashville. It starts at 6 PM on Tuesday, October 13.
